A free PDF editor is a great tool to utilize for making last minute changes to a PDF document. The revisions can be accomplished right in the PDF document before publication or markup text can be used to highlight the necessary revisions that will be executed in the original document.

The text edit menu will allow the user to customize, add, replace or delete text. Once the document is in edit mode, non text items will be frozen and not able to be edited. The PDF editor will allow the user to place the cursor in the location where the text is to be added. The editor will automatically match the text size, font and style. The properties can be further revised by using the appropriate tool bar, also found in text edit mode.

The free PDF editor will delete the desired text by allowing the user to highlight the subject text and pres the delete key. The deleted text can be brought back by clicking the undo icon.

The free PDF editor also allows the user to replace text either one word or a string of text. The user highlights the text to be replaced and then the new text is typed in or the appropriate text is pasted in place. For text pasted in place that retains the original text style, size and font and not that of the document, it can be revised very easily. Highlight the text to be revised and choose the font and size from the text menu. If text font and style is chosen that is not included on the computer, the user will see an error message prompting the user to choose a different font style.

Text can be reviewed and noted to be changed without changing the text in the PDF document. Invoking the “review text” mode, the user will be able to appoint an insertion point for the new text and type in the new text and strike a line through the text to be revised. This is useful when the PDF is just used for review purposes and the original document will be revised to reflect the necessary changes.

The free PDF editor offers additional edit methods to include bolding, underlining and italicizing text as necessary. The text to be edited is highlighted then the user clicks on the action in the edit tab. The desired edits are applied to the text and the document is saved. The PDF editor also has spell check that can be invoked as necessary or used in constant mode. The editor will highlight the misspelled words and offer the correct spelling or will automatically correct misspelled words as they are typed.

The free PDF editor will also allow the user to change the color of the text or the block behind the text by picking the desired color from the color palette found in text edit mode. The text color and color behind the text can both be different from the background color, if desired.
